2026 Conference USA Preview
The 2026-2027 season marks a rare moment for Conference USA – one in which there is actual continuity amongst the league. For the first time since 2019, there are no changes to the makeup of this league, which has been marked by consistent change for most of the past decade and has more or less served as a landing spot for many of the new additions to the FBS. While Conference USA is generally regarded as the weakest of the 10 conferences in FBS, not having a back-to-back champion since 2021-2022 speaks for itself.

CUSA Loses Two Teams
Ahead of the 2026 college football season, 22 teams changed conferences. Five of the Group of Six leagues experienced changeover. The Power 4 remained the same. Conference USA: Holdovers: Delaware, FIU, Jackson State, Liberty, Kennessaw State, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Sam Houston State, Western Kentucky. Conference USA lost Louisiana Tech and University of Texas-El Paso, and did not replace them as their total dropped from 12 to 10 members.

Conference USA September 29 Players of the Week
Conference USA announced Monday its weekly award winners for week four. The weekly awards are voted on by a panel of the league’s media. Offensive Player of the Week – La’Vell Wright, WKU – Gr. – RB: Defensive Player of the Week – Caleb Offord, Kennesaw State – Sr. – DB – Southaven, Miss. Offord helped anchor the backend of the Owls’ (3-2, 1-0 CUSA) secondary for nearly 40 minutes (38:59) as Kennesaw State won its third-straight game and CUSA opener against MTSU 24-16.

Conference USA September 22 Players of the Week
Kennesaw State football QB Amari Odom and offensive lineman JT Pennington were lauded for their performances in the Owls' 28-21 triumph over Arkansas State Saturday. The weekly awards are voted on by a panel of the league's media. Odom shined as he helmed an offense that rolled up nearly 500 yards of offense... a school-record 409 yards of offense (308 passing, 101 rushing) with a passing and rushing TDs to boot, the 15th Owl all-time to throw for 100 yards and run for 100 yards in a single-game.
