All right, so, Haynes is still day-to-day, okay? Mike told me before I came down here, that there's some report that someone had come out with on something or another that said that he's not playing. There's one person in the entire stratosphere that makes that call and that's myself. And there's been zero call made on that. Zero. Okay, he's day-to-day. Are we preparing the other guys to play? Yes. All right. Are we ruling him out? No. You heard it from the horse's mouth right there.

Homecoming...quality opponent...maroon effect, sellout. An awesome opportunity for our program against a very good football team. Coach Key...I've known him for awhile. Tremendous respect. He's invested in Georgia Tech for a lot of personal reasons. He did a nice job last year. He's been super competitive this year. Slowing down the run is going to be a key to success, without question. We haven't been consistent enough in our run defense. They have some quality backs, particularly 11 (Jamal Haynes).

Making his first start in nearly two years, Georgia Tech quarterback Zach Pyron threw for 269 yards and accounted for 314 yards of total offense – both career highs – but it was not enough to overcome No. 12/11 Notre Dame in a 31-13 loss to the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Playing in place of injured starter Haynes King, Pyron completed 20-of-36 passes for 269 yards and a score and ran 13 times for a team-high 45 yards in a valiant performance.

Show MoreGeorgia Tech Gives Duke Its First Loss 24-14 At Bobby Dodd Stadium
On the surface, some might have been surprised to see a 5-0 undefeated Duke team coming in to Bobby Dodd Stadium as a 10 point underdog to the 3-2 Yellow Jackets. But, a bit of research might explain that those five wins were against a pretty soft schedule. The Blue Devils beat Elon and UConn at home, then went into double overtime to beat Northwestern. Their fourth win was against a 1-4 FCS team in Middle Tennessee followed by a 21-20 home ACC squeaker against Tech’s opponent next week, North Carolina.
Show MoreYellow Jackets Fall to No. 19 Louisville on the Road
Georgia Tech outgained No. 19/20 Louisville by a 410-326 margin but costly miscues proved to be the difference in a 31-19 loss on Saturday at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Louisville scored touchdowns on a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal. Georgia Tech missed another field goal and did not convert a pair of 4h-down opportunities in the defeat. Tech rallied from a 17-7 deficit midway through the second quarter to pull even at 17-apiece late in the third. However, Louisville retook a 24-17 lead.
Show MoreGeorgia Tech Stomps VMI In Bobby Dodd Shellacking
A steady mist surrounded campus and an ominous looking sky managed to hold off a predicted storm. But, all of the pouring on was provided by the Jackets. VMI came in with a pair of losses at William & Mary (41-7) and to Bucknell 35-28. Tech was coming off a frustrating loss at Syracuse. But, in their favor was the interesting stat that the Yellow Jackets were 10-1 after a Tech loss under Brent Key. The chance of that happening was pretty good in what appeared to be a huge mismatch.
