KSU Takes Field for First Time Under Mack
A new era of Kennesaw State football began on the field Monday as the team began its first spring practice under coach Jerry Mack. It’s impossible to know what sort of finished product the Kennesaw State football team will look like when the next season begins in August, but first-year coach Jerry Mack was impressed by the effort he saw when the program opened spring camp Monday. It was the first of 15 sessions that will conclude with the KSU spring game at 11 a.m. April 5 at Fifth Third Stadium.

"There is no doubt in my mind that this university has great alignment," said Mack.

Kennesaw State Closes Season with Loss at LA Tech
Six Owls finished with six or more tackles on the day, but Kennesaw State was shutout 33-0 at Louisiana Tech on Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium. Despite having several key injured players, KSU's defense fought valiantly, recording three sacks, pushing the Bulldogs (5-7, 4-4 CUSA) back 38 yards total on the day. Overall, the Owl defense broke or tied seven career highs on Saturday. Unfortunately, the offense struggled to find its groove, only racking up 146 total yards and holding possession for under 23 minutes.

HC Chandler Burks Weekly Presser Previewing Louisiana Tech
I can tell you that, coming into this week, we have an unbelievable challenge ahead of us with Louisiana Tech. Going on the road in an environment that's not going to be easy. This football team is one of the most physical teams that I have watched in all phases. They play extremely fast, have really good personnel. Coach Cumby is going to have those guys ready to play. If you look at their schedule, their margin of loss is just under six points. They're taking top teams in the conference to overtimes.

Kennesaw State Goes Down In OT To Sam Houston 23-17
Dealing with the loss of the only head coach they had ever known to facing a 7-2 playoff bound opponent, the Owls showed some grit overcoming a lot of adversity to keep the game close with the game tied at 3, again at 10 and again at 17 before finally going into overtime. A missed field goal in OT made it easy for Sam Houston (8-2, 5-1 CUSA) who then needed any points to put the game away. They got that as quarterback Hunter Watson scampered into the end zone for the 23-17 victory.

Kennesaw State Visits MTSU For Midweek C-USA Game
Kennesaw State (0-5, 0-1 CUSA) takes it’s quest for a first win of the season on the road to Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro for a strange Tuesday night game staying in the conference on October 15th. The weeknight game does give the Owls an 11 day break. They might have a shot in that one with the Blue Raiders (1-5, 0-2 CUSA) also struggling out of the gate and coming off a tough Thursday 48-21 conference road game loss at Louisiana Tech. Unlike the Owls, they’ll be playing on just five days rest.

Statement from KSU Director of Athletics Milton Overton
"Over the last three years, the results on the football field failed to support our goal of building a competitive FBS program. Therefore, I determined it was time to make a leadership change to take the football program in a new direction. I advised Coach Bohannon of my decision, and, as is customary, offered him the opportunity to announce that he had stepped down. At the conclusion of our meeting, it was my understanding that Coach Bohannon had accepted my offer."

WKU Trounces Kennesaw State 31-14 to Lock Up Another Bowl Game
Last week, the Kennesaw State Owls picked up one of the program's most notable wins, downing their first FBS opponent in a victory over Liberty. This week, however, the Owls couldn't find the same magic against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. WKU's offense was firing on all cylinders Wednesday night, on the way to a 31-14 win. Here's what stood out from Tyson Helton's latest blowout victory. The Tops totaled 462 yards of offense on Wednesday, their fifth time going over the 400-yard mark this season.

Owls Stun First Place Flames As Crowd Storms The Field…Twice!
It was a thrilling Wednesday night game that made national headlines as a “monumental win” with fans and students storming the field for the first time that I can remember at Fifth Third Stadium. A historic 27-24 victory for KSU ending the Flames’ 17-game regular-season win streak...the Owls’ first win over an FBS team. “For the past month and a half, all we discussed was the importance of unity and faith in each other,” said coach Bohannon. “We believed, if we persevered, something positive would occur.”
