A Preseason SEC Media Poll has Georgia again favored to win the conference, ahead of Texas and Alabama. Numerous stars like TE Brock Bowers, WR Ladd McConkey and Rosemy-Jacksaint, OL Amarius Mims, OL Sedrick Van Pran, RB Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards are gone to the NFL. So, other players will have to step up. Fortunately, the most important spot for the offense is in place with Carson Beck, who is considered a top NFL Draft and Heisman prospect is returning at quarterback.

College football is under two months away. We look forward to arguably the most anticipated college football season in history. Several changes are set to take place. Among the changes is conference realignment, which places the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns in the Southeastern Conference with no more East and West divisions. The biggest change is the expanded College Football Playoff. Analysts are giving credence to the idea that five teams from the conference could make the playoff.

The Atlantic Coast Conference now stretches across the country, breaking away from its original geographic footprint to add two new members from California and a third from Texas. The conference welcomed Cal, Stanford and SMU into the fold. This can work, and it can work right away. Jacksonville State was one of the more pleasant surprises in 2023 moving up from the FCS to FBS status. Sam Houston might be the comp, though, for KSU. The Bearkats were an FCS power, prepped for the move up by reserving a slew of key parts to preserve a year of eligibility, and then … it was a rough year. They couldn’t pull off wins in close games in an 0-8 start, then it all started to work with wins in three of the last four. That might mirror Kennesaw State in its first run.
Show MoreLiberty Listed as Favorite to Win Conference USA in College Football
Conference USA has been reshuffling the deck over the past several years, adding and replacing new teams in the crosshairs of college football realignment. One of 2023's new members, Liberty, came in and took over, winning every conference game en route to a title in its first season in the league. First year head coach Jamey Chadwell unlocked quarterback Kaidon Salter and an aggressive defense to capture some hardware quickly. Oddsmakers are even more bullish on the Flames in 2024.
Show MoreGeorgia State Football: 2024 Panthers Season Preview
Considering the timing, the hiring of Dell McGee was a hit, although it may take a minute for the impact to come into full view. His recruiting acumen, which he didn’t have the chance to exercise this cycle, will help. For now, it might be a Year Zero situation. Former Georgia State head coach Shawn Elliott’s resignation during spring practice was one of the stranger moves of the offseason,. The Panthers were fortunately to hire UGA associate head coach Dell McGee. Because of the timing, the roster is in a state of limbo.
Show MoreSun Belt Football 2024 Predictions
Change is the biggest storyline for most college football conferences in the 2024 season, but that's not the case in the Sun Belt. The 14-team league will maintain divisions and the same membership as it had in '23. Although the Sun Belt never made a New Year's Six bowl or earned a playoff spot in the four-team format, the recent conference changes could put this league as the best in the Group of 5 ranks. In the East, Appalachian State is the projected frontrunner after winning the division and losing 49-23 to Troy in the conference title game last season.
Show MoreAtlanta Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. signs rookie deal
The Atlanta Falcons' No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has agreed to terms on a four-year, $22.8 million rookie contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. Atlanta's selection of Penix was the stunning decision of draft night after the club's big offseason signing of Kirk Cousins, who became a Falcon on a four-year, $180 million contract that includes $100 million in guarantees. Penix will presumably sit behind Cousins for the next couple of years as an eventual successor.
Show MoreNFC South Analysis: Can new-look Falcons topple Buccaneers?
The NFC South has been the most winnable division in the NFL in the last couple of seasons, despite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking home the division crown in the previous three years. But, the Falcons have a new head coach in Raheem Morris, following Arthur Smith's unsuccessful tenure. Morris and new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson (formerly with the LA Rams) have a wealth of talent at their disposal, including elite running backs Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson.
