Falcons Projected Make Historic Draft Pick at No. 15 Overall
NFL free agency is about to start. But that doesn't mean the mock drafts stop.
At Atlantafalcons.com, the mock drafts are actually just beginning. Falcons senior reporter Tori McElhaney released her first mock Friday.
In that mock draft, McElhaney projected the Falcons to do something they have never done previously -- target a Georgia Bulldogs player in the first round.
McElhaney had the Falcons landing Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams at
No. 15 overall.

How Georgia football schedule measures up on SEC, national scale
Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs had the last word in the SEC in 2024, exiting as conference champs despite arguably the most difficult league slate in school history. Smart, his adrenaline still hot from the 22-19 overtime win over Texas in the SEC Championship Game, let the league commissioner know at the trophy stand that his team would need rest after its arduous run. The Bulldogs 2025 league schedule won’t offer much relief, with UGA playing the same opponents at alternate sites.

SEC football power rankings as 2025 spring ball kicks off
For the second-straight year, the SEC didn’t play for or win the national championship, which put its reputation as college football’s most dominant conference in some doubt among commentators, but the 2025 season provides another chance for the league to return to form. The Big Ten has won the last two national titles, but there’s still no other conference in the country that can boast the SEC’s depth from top to bottom. Georgia Tech’s season opener moved to Aug. 29
Georgia Tech football’s 2025 season opener at Colorado, originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, has been moved to Friday, Aug. 29. The game will be televised nationally on a FOX or ESPN network. TV arrangements and kickoff time will be announced in the coming months. The Friday opener will mark the second-straight season that Georgia Tech kicks off the season in a premium TV window. Last season, the Yellow Jackets kicked off the college football campaign with a 24-21 victory over No. 10 Florida State in Ireland.

KSU Takes Field for First Time Under Mack
A new era of Kennesaw State football began on the field Monday as the team began its first spring practice under coach Jerry Mack. It’s impossible to know what sort of finished product the Kennesaw State football team will look like when the next season begins in August, but first-year coach Jerry Mack was impressed by the effort he saw when the program opened spring camp Monday. It was the first of 15 sessions that will conclude with the KSU spring game at 11 a.m. April 5 at Fifth Third Stadium.

CUSA Squads Embark on Spring Football Schedules
Preparations for the 2025 football season are on full display over the next two months as CUSA’s 12 members conduct their spring football schedules. The action begins with Liberty’s Spring Game and culminates with LA Tech’s Spring Showcase on April 26. Kennesaw State and New Mexico State hit the field March 3. ,FBS newcomer Missouri State and Delaware join CUSA this season. In addition to the two new programs, the league welcomes six new head coaches including KSU's Jerry Mack.

Georgia State dismisses QB, suspends 2 others for bar fight
Georgia State University dismissed quarterback Bo Schlecter and indefinitely suspended kicker Christian Benvenuto and linebacker Dexter Moody, a former star at Emanuel County Institute in Twin City, for their roles in a bar fight in Atlanta Schlecter was arrested after he was involved in a fight outside of Moondogs bar in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. Schlecter, a sophomore from Wellington, Fla., started four games for the FCS program last season, throwing for 550 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.

Football Schedule
The 25th season of Sun Belt football will feature 56 league games. Each program will play 8 conference games—6 against divisional opponents and 2 against cross-divisional foes from the opposite division. With 14 member institutions in 10 contiguous states, the Sun Belt is committed to its identity as a regional conference with a divisional model. The Sun Belt East Division includes App State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Marshall and Old Dominion.
